In its fight against poverty and food insecurity in South America, the Foundation operates in countries characterized by large rural communities that are negatively impacted by changing economic and climatic conditions, with drought impacting crop yields and soil quality, and where subsistence agriculture often fails to ensure sustainable livelihoods to local smallholders.
Today, the Foundation is active in Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina with micro-farming and education programs. The involvement Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) in some of the Foundation’s projects has been instrumental to their success, with LDC contributing key expertise and facilitating access to regional commercial networks.
