Empowering the Next Generation for better future

To combat inequality, unlock potential, and build resilient communities, the Louis Dreyfus Foundation has made a deep and lasting commitment to youth education and training as tools for self-reliance and empowerment.

From building schools and training centers to renovating school infrastructure and providing scholarships, the foundation focuses on improving access to education and training for vulnerable communities.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the foundation, together with local partner organizations, created and continues to fund two agricultural vocational centers with a strong focus on sustainable development. These educational centers equip young people with the necessary skills and competencies to become agricultural professionals, creating sustainable income opportunities for graduates while addressing high youth unemployment in rural areas. A total of 189 students graduated between 2019 and 2024, and 70 students are currently studying at these centers.

Another project in Medan, Indonesia, helps the technical school Polbangtan Medan improve its educational curriculum by incorporating a STEM-based approach to learning and development. This approach integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to enhance problem-solving skills and make subjects more applicable to real-world situations. Thirty-two teachers were involved in this project, with more than 700 students expected to benefit from the improved curriculum in the future.

“At the heart of the foundation’s mission is a belief that every young person, regardless of their socioeconomic background, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. The foundation’s initiatives aim to break down barriers—be they financial, geographic, or systemic—that prevent youth from accessing the education they deserve,” says Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, Honorary President of the Louis Dreyfus Foundation.

“The work and mission of the Louis Dreyfus Foundation are closely aligned with other foundations I’m involved with, including the UEFA Foundation for Children, which supports underprivileged children and youth worldwide and celebrates its 10th anniversary,” she adds.

Both foundations view their work in education as a long-term investment in the global community. By equipping young people with the tools they need to thrive, the foundations are not only transforming individual lives but also laying the groundwork for stronger, more inclusive communities.
